MP backs biodiesel tax break campaign

Liberal Democrat MP Andrew George is backing a campaign to keep tax breaks for companies who produce biodiesel.
Producers converting cooking oil into biodiesel currently benefit from a 20p differential but that is because of end next April.
The St Ives MP, who leads the Lib Dem Environment Team, has been meeting with the UK sustainable biodiesel alliance.
Mr George said "a variety of little organizations in Cornwall currently earn money from utilized cooking oil".
He added: "In order to be able to get this kind of industry going it does need just a little bit of lift which can be found in the kind of tax foregone."
Biodiesel is a mix of conventional diesel, rapeseed and veggie oils.
